ADC’s Delusion and Desperation: A Structureless Party Can’t Defeat Tinubu in 2027
Dr Oke Idawene - Convener The Renewed Hope For MORE Agenda Ambassadors
The African Democratic Congress (ADC), a political party that has consistently failed to establish a meaningful presence in Nigeria’s democratic space, has once again embarrassed itself with a poorly veiled attempt to distort reality. In a recent statement filled with baseless accusations, the ADC claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government is reacting out of fear to a so-called "opposition coalition." It is laughable that a party with no structure, no leadership credibility, and no national appeal believes it has the political clout to unseat a government with the strength, vision, and momentum of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
No Substance, No Strategy, No Chance
It is quite ironic that the ADC—whose electoral performance has never risen above political irrelevance—is accusing the Tinubu administration of panic. A party that has never produced a governor, a senator, or even a significant presence in any state assembly is now parading itself as the force behind policy direction at the federal level. This is not just a joke; it’s a tragicomedy. The truth is clear: ADC lacks not only structure but also the moral weight to speak on national governance.
The Tinubu administration is not reacting to fear; it is responding to facts. The government has rolled out comprehensive strategies to address food security, economic growth, and youth empowerment—long before ADC knew how to spell “coalition.” These efforts are not a product of political pressure but the outcome of sound planning, commitment, and a forward-thinking leadership model.
Tinubu’s Government is Working—Despite the Noise
Since assuming office, President Tinubu has shown boldness in tackling decades-old economic dysfunction. His economic reforms, including the unification of the exchange rate, removal of fuel subsidies, and ongoing investment in agriculture and infrastructure, are the hallmark of visionary leadership. The President's commitment to food security is not a response to a toothless opposition but a core pillar of his Renewed Hope Agenda.
It is delusional for ADC to suggest that tweets or press statements by non-influential political actors have shaken the Presidency. If anything, the Tinubu government has remained focused despite multiple distractions and continues to build a resilient Nigeria through solid partnerships and intelligent policymaking. The claim that the government was “sitting on its hands while Nigerians starved” is the height of irresponsible political propaganda.
The Real Panic Is in the ADC Camp
The truth is, the ADC is not launching any serious political movement—it is desperately trying to stay relevant in a fast-evolving political landscape where Nigerians have seen through the noise and chosen stability. The opposition knows it cannot match the depth, spread, and credibility of the APC under President Tinubu. That is why it is now resorting to attention-grabbing headlines instead of providing real policy alternatives.
This so-called “united opposition” coalition is nothing but a gathering of defeated politicians, opportunists, and political merchants looking for relevance ahead of 2027. Their alliance is based on mutual desperation, not shared ideology or vision. Nigerians can see through this and will not be deceived.
2027 Is a Battle Between Leadership and Opportunism
Make no mistake: the 2027 election will not be a contest between the APC and a mythical opposition—it will be a choice between progress and regression, between proven leadership and recycled failures. President Tinubu is not campaigning prematurely; he is building a nation. He is not issuing empty statements; he is implementing real reforms that touch lives and uplift communities.
If ADC is truly concerned about the future of Nigeria, it should stop playing politics with hunger and start building a credible alternative—if it ever can. It is not enough to issue press releases filled with emotional blackmail and unverified claims. Nigerians deserve mature politics, not melodrama.
A Call to Nigerians: Stay Focused on Progress
We urge the Nigerian people not to be distracted by the cacophony of irrelevant political actors. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to all Nigerians. Under his Renewed Hope Agenda, we are seeing bold steps in agriculture, health, education, and digital innovation—steps that require courage and consistency.
Let ADC and its imaginary coalition know this: No amount of coordinated media noise, Twitter tantrums, or choreographed press conferences will derail the focus of this administration. Tinubu’s government is here to work, not to play politics.
The 2027 election is not a reality show. It is not a game for the politically unserious. It is a contest for the future of Nigeria—and the Tinubu-led APC will meet that moment with unmatched strength, vision, and results.
