Postgraduate Scholarship Programmes

1. Foreign Postgraduate Scholarships

Historically, NDDC funded around 200 postgraduate scholars pursuing studies abroad (UK, USA, etc.).

These recipients have achieved multiple distinctions and a strong track record—no reports of misconduct  .

New Local Postgraduate Scholarships (2025)

Launched June 2025, this expanded programme now includes 600 scholarships for postgrad studies at Nigerian universities.

This expansion is directly due to the success of the foreign programme  .

The application process began in early June after interviews for the existing foreign scheme were completed  .

Youth Employment & Internship Schemes

Youth Internship Programme (December 2024 kickoff)

10,000 Niger Delta youths selected for a one-year internship, each receiving ₦50,000 monthly stipend

Launched August 5, 2024; stipends began December 2024  .

HOPE Initiative (Holistic Opportunity Projects of Engagement)

A parallel programme designed to align youth interests with skills training and university-led research opportunities  .
