A Leader Beyond Promises

For many in the Niger Delta, leadership has too often meant lofty promises without real change. But Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), is quietly rewriting that story. His approach is rooted in service, transparency, and accountability, with a focus on projects that directly transform people’s daily lives. From coastal Bayelsa to the heart of Ondo, his vision is leaving a visible mark.

Bridging Communities in Bayelsa

In Bayelsa State, residents of 14 once-isolated communities now have a lifeline through the 27-kilometer Ogbia-Nembe Road. Built in partnership with Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), the road features seven bridges and 50 culverts. What was once a perilous three-hour journey by water to Yenagoa has been cut to just 45 minutes on safe ground. For locals, it is more than a road—it is access to markets, schools, and opportunities.

Lighting Up Ondo Again

In Ondo State, the story is one of light restored. After 15 years in darkness, 25 local government areas have electricity again, thanks to a 45-km feeder line from Omotosho Power Station and a new 132/33 KV substation at Ode-Erinje. For families and businesses, this means renewed hope, productivity, and dignity.
