PRINCE (DR) DOODEI AGBABOU WEEK:
REFLECTING THROUGH LEADERSHIP

By: Chief Jones Abiri /Niger Delta Progress-Reporters/December 27th, 2025
Trust and truth is revealed not in moments of abundance alone, but in the choices made when self-interest would have been easier. Prince (Dr) Doodei Agbabou Week did not separate himself from the people. He did not build walls where bridges were needed. In times when many choose comfort over commitment, he choose community over convenience.

He remained present and shared in both the burdens and the blessings of the community. He understood that progress means little if it excludes the very people it is meant to serve. Rather than turning his back or retreating into isolation, he stood firm with Chief (Dr) Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NDDC, embracing its struggles, its hopes, and its future as his own.
That singular decision speaks louder than any declaration. It tells a story of loyalty, responsibility, and genuine love for the land and its people. That is why his name is spoken with respect and honour, why his actions inspire trust, resilience, and why his path is not walked alone.
Respect is earned when leaders remember where they come from. He was being honoured with several awards, this as a  result of his open heart and desire to ensure the growth of the community that forms part of the Yenagoa city center of Bayelsa State.

As Convener, today being Saturday 27 December, 2025 he had made history first of its kind in launching/unveiling of Anyama Ijaw Digital Innovative/GIS-Based Street Naming and flag-off of the Greater Anyama ECO-Sanctuary/ Tree Planting Project at Anyama Ultra Modern Community Town Hall which he built, were various presentation was made that includes; Honourable Ebi Ben Ololo, Commissioner for Environment in Bayelsa State, key note address was presented by Chief (Hon) Noble Akenge while Dr. Onyinye Ochuba, an Environmental Economist, who was a rapportuer at the occasion, which is a cheering development.

On tree planting exhibition,  Avocado 🥑, Cashew, Local Pears, Step Tree, Soursop, Masquerade Tree, Oval Tree, Fescus Tree and Mangoes Tree were being displayed while its formal planting in the community was flag-off by the Honourable Commissioner for Environment including the Convener with the support of other dignitaries.

Affection grows when service is sincere. Support becomes unshakable when the people know they have not been abandoned. By choosing Anyama Ijaw, he choose legacy over applause, unity over division, and service over self.
And for that choice, he is  not isolated from his home. The people upheld him. He is valued. He is actually been surrounded by the goodwill of a people who recognize sincerity when they see it and stand firmly with those who have stood with them.
