Southern Ijaw Traditional Rulers Council Honours Prince Doodei Week, PhD, for Outstanding Contributions to Community Development

The Southern Ijaw Traditional Rulers Council has formally expressed its profound appreciation to Prince Doodei Week, PhD, Director of Procurement, NDDC for his remarkable and sustained contributions to the development of communities across Southern Ijaw, facilitates through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

In recognition of his selfless service, commitment to grassroots development, and unwavering connection to his roots, the Council conferred on him a prestigious chieftaincy title: Ibe-Baragha I of Southern Ijaw—a title that signifies “the one who does not forget his people.” This honour reflects the deep respect and gratitude of the traditional institution for a leader whose actions have consistently translated into tangible benefits for the people.

The Council noted that Prince Doodei Week’s interventions have positively impacted lives and strengthened community development efforts, underscoring the importance of leadership anchored in empathy, responsibility, and service to humanity. His work through the NDDC has been described as purposeful and people-centred, resonating strongly with the aspirations of Southern Ijaw communities.

During the conferment, the Traditional Rulers offered prayers for divine strength, wisdom, and guidance for Prince Doodei Week, asking God to uplift him to greater heights and empower him to continue contributing meaningfully to society and humanity at large.

The Southern Ijaw Traditional Rulers Council reaffirmed its belief that honouring individuals who remain committed to their people serves as an inspiration to others in public service and reinforces the values of integrity, gratitude, and community-focused leadership.
