Prince Dr. Doodei Week, PhD, former Chairman of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) Central Zone, on Friday warmly received Elder T.K. Ogoriba, a respected statesman and presidential aspirant of the INC Worldwide, at his hometown of Anyama in a consultative meeting marked by goodwill, reflection, and shared commitment to the Ijaw cause.
The visit formed part of Elder Ogoriba’s ongoing engagements with key stakeholders across Ijawland as he formally intimated Prince Dr. Week of his intention to seek the presidency of the INC Worldwide. Beyond the notification, the meeting provided an avenue to solicit counsel, guidance, and support from one of the foremost voices in the Ijaw political and socio-cultural landscape.
Elder Ogoriba arrived with a distinguished delegation that included Hon. Oyeinfie Emmanuel Jonjon, former National President of the Ijaw Youth Council; Ikuli Wisdom; Dr. Emmanuel Atalawei; Engr. Chief Izon-ebi Oyakemeagbegha; Hon. Kalso Doupere Dio; Forcados Edmund; and Hon. Bernard, underscoring the significance attached to the visit.

Prince Dr. Doodei Week, flanked by members of his political family, loyal supporters, and executive members who served during his tenure as INC Zonal Chairman, accorded the delegation a warm and dignified reception. The atmosphere reflected deep mutual respect and a shared history in the struggle for the unity, progress, and dignity of the Ijaw people.
In his remarks, Prince Dr. Week praised Elder Ogoriba as a stalwart of the Ijaw struggle, describing him as a “living ancestor” whose contributions to the advancement of the Ijaw nation remain enduring. He urged the aspirant to prioritize inclusivity, unity, and collective progress should he emerge victorious, emphasizing that the strength of the INC lies in its ability to carry every segment of Ijawland along.
Prince Dr. Week expressed profound gratitude to Elder Ogoriba and his team for the honour of the visit and the confidence reposed in him. He also used the opportunity to convey appreciation to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, requesting that anyone who truly shares in his vision and goodwill extend his regards accordingly.
The meeting concluded on a cordial note, with Prince Dr. Week wishing Elder Ogoriba and his entourage a safe journey, while reaffirming the importance of continuous consultation and unity as the INC charts its future course.
