​Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director and CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), the region is witnessing a profound shift from traditional interventionism to a future-defined developmental model. Central to this evolution is a strategic alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, a partnership that is already yielding tangible dividends for the people of the Niger Delta.

​The Commission’s commitment to modernizing the regional economy was recently highlighted by Barr. Lyna Okara, Director of Commercial and Industrial Development (CID). Reflecting on the administration's achievements, she noted the visible impact of federal initiatives, particularly the successful rollout and adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) technologies.

​However, the Ogbuku-led management is not content with simply maintaining the status quo. The NDDC is actively looking toward the next frontier of industrialization: Electric Vehicles (EVs) and other emerging green technologies. By positioning the Niger Delta as a potential hub for sustainable energy and modern transport, the Commission is ensuring the region remains competitive in a rapidly decarbonizing global economy.

​Dr. Ogbuku’s tenure has been defined by an "open-door" philosophy. The NDDC has made it clear that the monumental task of regional transformation cannot be achieved in isolation.

​"NDDC is ready to partner with anyone committed to ensuring that this country moves forward," Barr. Okara stated, echoing the Managing Director’s stance on collaborative governance.
