In a powerful display of inter-governmental synergy and regional solidarity, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, joined a distinguished assembly of leaders to welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Bayelsa State. The visit was marked by the historic inauguration of the New Yenagoa City Road One, a 2.9km dualized stretch that serves as a critical artery linking the New City to the Airport Road.
The project, a cornerstone of Governor Douye Diri’s urban renewal programme, aims to open up the state capital and stimulate economic expansion. Standing alongside icons such as former President Goodluck Jonathan, Governor Diri, and Deputy Governor Dr. Peter Akpe, Dr. Ogbuku’s presence underscored his pivotal role as a bridge-builder between the Presidency and the Niger Delta people. As a prominent son of the soil, his participation highlights the NDDC's supportive stance toward infrastructure that transforms the lives of Bayelsans.
Dr. Ogbuku utilized the occasion to emphasize the importance of high-impact infrastructure in unlocking the economic potential of Yenagoa. His involvement in this ceremony further cements his reputation as a transformative leader dedicated to the "New Era" of the Niger Delta—a philosophy where project completion and strategic partnerships take precedence over bureaucracy. Under his leadership, the NDDC continues to align its goals with both state visions and national priorities.
The successful inauguration of the New Yenagoa City Road One serves as a testament to what can be achieved when federal and state interests align for the common good. For Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the event was more than a ceremony; it was a reaffirmation of his unwavering commitment to ensuring that Bayelsa State remains a focal point of the "Renewed Hope" agenda, driving progress and prosperity for all Niger Deltans.
