GRASSROOTS MOBILIZER PRINCE (DR.) DOODEI WEEK HONORS CENTENARIAN AT OROKPOPOR; REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY VALUES

REPORT BY DAVE IKIEDEI | Niger Delta Progress-Reporters | April 12, 2026

In a profound display of solidarity and respect for community elders, PRINCE (DR.) DOODEI WEEK joined the family and people of Orokpopor, Owhelogbo, in Delta State to celebrate the life and legacy of the late MADAM DORCAS ENEZIAREHOR OGBOGBO. The matriarch, who transitioned at the remarkable age of 107, was laid to rest in a ceremony that drew dignitaries and community members alike.

Dr. Week, widely recognized as a "man of the people," arrived at the ceremony accompanied by a spirited delegation of supporters. His presence at the event underscores his reputation as a leader who prioritizes human connection, consistently mourning with those who mourn and rejoicing with those who rejoice.

In the local parlance of the Ijaw people, Dr. Week is frequently likened to the "fish that makes the soup sweet." This cultural metaphor speaks volumes of his impact; just as a vital ingredient defines the quality of a meal, Dr. Week’s involvement in community affairs is seen as the essential element that brings progress, harmony, and "flavor" to the lives of his constituents.

As an emerging leader par excellence, he has proven himself to be a tireless servant, navigating the complexities of grassroots mobilization with grace and a genuine "heart of gold."

Observers at the event noted that Dr. Week represents a rare breed of leadership in the contemporary political landscape. His approach is not defined by distance or bureaucracy, but by active participation in the cultural and social fabric of the Niger Delta.

By standing with the Ogbogbo family during their time of bereavement, Dr. Week has once again demonstrated that true leadership is rooted in empathy and accessibility. He remains a beacon of hope for those seeking a representative who is both a visionary and a grounded companion to the common man.
