At the plenary session of the 2026 NBA Yenagoa Branch Law Week, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, delivered a compelling address focused on long-term regional and national transformation.
Speaking to the gathered assembly of legal minds and stakeholders at the NCDMB Conference Hall, Dr. Ogbuku aligned his insights directly with the event's theme, “Securing the Future.”

Learning from the Past: Dr. Ogbuku emphasized that planning for the future requires a honest assessment of previous shortcomings. He noted:
 "In securing the future, we must also think of the past, because we have missed our way and there is a need to rediscover our purpose."

 Education as a Foundation: He strongly advocated for increased investment in education, identifying it as the bedrock for national reorientation and sustainable development across the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole.

Value-Based Reorientation: Decrying the rise of modern societal vices and corruption, he stressed the need to counter negative media influences by embedding value-based frameworks within the educational system to guide the next generation.
